    Our growing consulting team has an exciting opportunity for a Solution Architect.  Qualified candidates are part of the consulting team in a key role that links Planview’s core value streams to ensure value is delivered to our customers. Employees in this role serve as customer-facing domain expertise to deliver Planview products and services to customers, accountable for the design of sustainable architecture for their specific solution from start to finish, to ensure the customer can meet their business outcomes while meeting or exceeding their expectations, and to positively influence Planview revenue and profitability. Qualified candidates possess a demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic, high-volume environment that balances varied needs to ultimately drive the success of our customers and our business.


    • Ensure consistent delivery of solutions based on best practices for single business unit customers in the industries that we support
    • Define, document, and manage the time, scope, and budget to the agreed statement of work
    • Lead the design, development and documentation of required “to–be” business processes and environment
    • Provide proactive best practice advice to the customer’s solution owner to provide a smooth, effective transition from solution development to solution deployment to maximize user acceptance and adoption
    • Develop intimate, trusted advisor relationships with key customer stakeholders to ensure the benefits of the solution delivered can be validated
    • Validate solution success with customers against agreed business outcomes to provide on-going guidance relative to changes in the business environment
    • Completes pre-project set-up and works with Managing Consultant to set expectations based on scope of work, business needs and client requirements
    • Leverages superior communication and presentation skills to lead workshops to facilitate and explain Planview business capabilities and product level concepts and how they link to driving value for the customer.
    • Identifies complementary products or services that meet Customer’s business needs and drive revenue for Planview
    • Identify and document the customer’s “as is” environment and processes that link to business outcomes, requirements, and analytics.
    • Consult and guide customer process definition and optimization for specific capability areas, ensuring alignment and consistency with best practices.
    • Architect customer solution to ensure the designed solution is documented and will deliver business outcomes, support the processes and is aligned with best practice.
    • Conducts quality assurance checks and testing throughout the project to ensure alignment to best practice solution architecture and end state solution outcomes. Engage global Solution Architect team as a second line of validation and peer review
    • Lead and plan data conversion/migration and validation with customer, provide guidance and assistance to implementation Functional Consultant if required.
    • Lead and plan reporting and analytics requirements and specification definition and documentation with customer, provide guidance and assistance to implementation Functional Consultant if required.
    • Lead and plan interface requirements specification definition and documentation with customer, provide guidance and assistance to implementation Functional Consultant if required.
    • Performs the implementation Functional Consultant role for smaller, less complex customer implementations and Mentors Functional Consultants in product configuration and usage best practices
    • Manage own work relative to project plan, including timeline, impact to budget, escalations, and risk mitigations
    • Enters time accurately and in a timely fashion weekly for work performed
    • Achieves team billable utilization objectives
    • Gathers customer information to escalate and solve the most complex, multi-level, and/or technical-related customer problems, conducts additional research to identify patterns and the root causes of the issue and develop a plan of action to resolve the issue
    • Uses business requirements, and technical/product requirements and negotiates with customer to ensure the best solutions are provided; provides expert advice on additional or complementary products or services that meet their business needs and drive revenue
    • Guides customer to make sound business decisions to resolve issues found during troubleshooting
    • Master product functionality and how it is applied to achieve Customer business objectives
    • Masters new product release functionality
    • Works with internal Professional Services project team to ensure on time and on budget product implementation
    • Identifies scope gaps and works with the Managing Consultant to document and estimate the changes
    • Works with Development to test product fixes and new features as needed


    • Bachelor’s Degree required, Graduate Degree desired
    • A minimum of six years of client facing consulting experience with an ability to demonstrate previous results across different industry sectors.
    • Broad understanding of software implementation, quality assurance, business process analysis, organization change management and system integrations
    • Knowledge of underlying specific functional or technical material based on the product(s) supported (e.g., strategic and financial planning, project/resource management, Agile methodologies, product development lifecycle etc.)
    • Ability to learn and apply industry knowledge and understanding of the business to drive revenue
    • Ability to gain deep technical knowledge of product(s) supported
    • Demonstrated ability to stay up-to-date with technology changes or industry changes relative to product(s) supported (e.g., GDPR, IT governance, PPM, Agile, P3M3, NPD, EA, BPD, etc.)
    • Related certifications or industry designations (e.g. PMP, CPA, PRINCE2, TOGAF, ITIL etc.)
    • Possess skills in conceptualizing creative solutions and communicating them to others including senior management
    • Ability to articulate the value of Planview Work and Resource Management and using your consulting skills to position the prescribed services to achieve the customer’s business outcomes
    • Able to develop multiple levels of relationships with the customer to ensure customer acceptance of responsibilities to deploy an effective solution
    • Provide thought leadership to customers methods and approaches that enable the realization of value from project, portfolio, and resource management practices
    • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive projects to closure
    • Must have demonstrated understanding of the implementation approach elements including:
      • Business outcome definition
      • Linking of key analytics and decisions to business outcomes
      • Workshop facilitation to ensure discussions remain within scope
      • Assess and advise on process design and documentation
      • Provide quality professional services deliverables, executive-level presentations, and status reporting
    • Demonstrate excellent communication and presentation skills
    • Experience responding and resolving conflicting issues and customer requirements in a variety of customer or client situations and personalities
    • Ability to remain calm under pressure and show patience within a variety of customer situations
    • Work independently and have experience in leading a project team.
    • Willingness to travel approximately 60%
    • Experience with a variety of software platforms and delivery methods including web-based and cloud-based systems, SQL and basic technology tools including MS Office, MS Visio, MS SharePoint, MS Reporting Services, etc.
    • Strong collaborator and team player working with the broader Planview consulting team to ensure customer success.
    • Prior experience with Project governance, Project and Portfolio Management and/or financial reporting tools
